People and processes to lead the development of chess in the world

FIDE, the International Chess Federation, is an almost centennial organisation grouping more than 190 federations. While most of the tournaments have a local, national or international scope, two dozens of events are directly organised under the umbrella of FIDE, such as World Championships, qualifying stages, the famous chess Olympiad every 2 years, the World Cup etc.

Under the current leadership of Arkady Dvorkovich, FIDE has started a modernisation of its management processes to enable next steps of development.

The FIDE Arbiters’ Commission also aims at contributing to the current FIDE transformation. This goes through strengthening foundations (operational processes, global structure), building a vision and executing it.

Step by step, we are building a path for the development of the arbiters’ sector.
